The PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management has three primary objectives:

  • To provide comprehensive knowledge of business concepts and practices in operations and supply chain management to support teaching and publishing in top academic journals
  • To develop advanced competencies for conducting quality research, directing research of others, and communicating research findings through teaching and writing
  • To prepare candidates for the varied responsibilities of academic careers or for positions requiring similar research and analytical skills

Our supply chain faculty have conducted research in a variety of areas, including supply chain design and control, inventory management, production scheduling, product development, facility location, design of services, industrial contracting, logistics, manufacturing and supply-chain strategy, forecasting, behavioral operations management and information technology applications in supply chain management

Degree requirement for this program is:

  • A minimum of eighteen years of education resulting in a Masters or M.Phil degree with thesis option from an HEC recognized University
  • 3.0/4.0 Cumulative GPA in semester based system or First Division in the annual based system or equivalent. NTS/GRE/GMAT/IAT (Abasyn Admission Test) – NTS – 60 or above accumulative score or o GRE General Score - 450/800 -Verbal reasoning - 550/800 - Quantitative reasoning - 3.5/6 - Analytic writing o GRE Subject Test
  • As per department requirement or (if applicable) Abasyn Aptitude Test (AAT) – 70% score (Note: If the Test is not available in NTS subject list, then a University Committee consisting of at least 3 PhD faculty members in the subject area will conduct an AAT for the applicants)

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Operations and Supply Chain Management is designed to give the candidate comprehensive knowledge of his or her professional field and training in methods of research. The doctoral program has a strong research orientation and a systems point of view, stressing the interrelations of the functional business areas and the importance of effective decision making. The program’s goal is to develop professionals who are well grounded in underlying theory in their disciplines and who have refined problem-solving capabilities
